Social networking is now a huge part of our society. Almost everyone will use it in many different ways. Like when you want to chat with your friends, Facebook is one of good option you can choose. in 2018, Facebook had around 2 billion monthly active users, that's incredible. You can see your friend's post on Facebook, get in touch with them everyday. On the other hand, social networking can help you on job recruiting. LinkedIn is one good choice, you can search the job just by clicking your mouse. It save lots of time to go out finding a job.
However, social networking also have some bad sides. one example will be less face to face talking. Which mean less time to spend with each others. In the New York Time article "How does Technology Affect Kids' Friendships", it says that right now preteen chat to each other on the text message, they are no longer spend long hours talking on the phone, not even write a few paragraphs of e-mail to each other. They choose to write less like they just type "K" as "OK", "see you" as "c ya". This way they even spend less time talking to each other which lead affect their relationship.
Another article "Facebook Privacy Is So Confusing Even the Zuckerberg Family Photo Isn't Private" show one important dark side of social network, no privacy. In the article, one person who is not even Zuckberberg's friend can take her picture and post on his page. that's scary. If there is no privacy on the Facebook, that may lead to some serious situation where people don't want to happen. Stealing information may occur and that may be a crime which lead to lots of damage to others.
In the end, I want to say that there surely have many good things about social network, but face to face talking is pretty important, this way can grow relationship between each others. Also, don't put some sensitive and privacy information online may prevent some bad thing happen.

I agree with you that face to face interaction is important for everyone, especially for growing children. If children are spending too much time social networking and less time interacting in person, that might hinder their social skills.
